A NeW Wave of Campus Feminism

I was very happy to see Time magazine report on the fabulous student group, the Network of enlightened Women (NeW).  Karin Agness founded the group at the University of Virginia in 2004 when she realized (go figure!) that all of the women’s groups on campus were liberal.  Instead of complaining about it, Karin started a conservative women’s group. In a short amount of time, chapters have popped up around the country.  According to Time, campus feminists are not happy with NeW’s success:

How to deal with the rise of NeW is on the agenda at this week’s National Women’s Studies Association Conference . On Thursday, a panel will discuss how traditionally liberal campus women’s centers can respond to conservative women and NeW in particular.
