He has appointed another far-left academic to a federal post, this time Duke professor (and Gang of 88 member) Cathy Davidson to the National Council on Humanities. My Pope Center colleague Jay Schalin writes about it here. It appears that Davidson is interested in the humanities mainly as a platform for advancing the progressive/statist view of the world.
