Oberlin Hoax: Here’s the Question

Writing on Minding the Campus, John Leo asks, apropos of the Oberlin hoax, why the administration took so long to reveal the truth. That’s an excellent question. My guess is that the administrators simply hated to give up the glow that progressives seem to get when they think they’re at the center of the battle against the forces of darkness. They like it even if there is no actual battle and the forces of darkness are imaginary.
