One of the brightest spots in the bleak world of higher ed is the Tocqueville Forum, which seeks to preserve classical liberal learning at Georgetown University. Its director just emailed about an upcoming event:
On Monday, November 26 at 5 p.m. the Tocqueville Forum will host a roundtable discussion of Pope Benedict XVI’s now famous “Regensburg Lecture” which set off a firestorm of violence around the Islamic world. The roundtable will feature Jean Bethke Elshtain of the University of Chicago, Daniel Mahoney of Assumption College, Marc Guerra of Ave Maria University, and Georgetown’s own Father James V. Schall, SJ, author of a recent book on the Pope’s lecture. The event is free of charge and will be held in the Copley Formal Lounge on the main campus of Georgetown University.
