June marks Title IX’s birthday, and there are sure to be countless articles written around the country lauding the gender-equity law for supporting women’s athletics. Few of those articles will feature the critical insight of Pearson’s article — namely that Title IX has created an incentive structure that punishes men’s athletics as it attempts to aid women’s athletics.
