Plagiarism? So Yesterday

Plagiarism by students and faculty, long a problem in academe, has risen untold  new heights: Scammers have concocted a fictitious campus called the University of Redwood, whose website copies photographs of a campus and a faculty directory — most of which belongs to Reed College in Oregon.

Officials at Reed believe the site to be a ploy to collect application fees from prospective students in Hong Kong and Asia.

Chalk one up for high-tech scheming — at students’ expense.
