Poll Reflects Pro-Life Leanings for Young People

With all of “Generation Y’s” shortcomings, it is more than refreshing to hear that America’s youthful voters are becoming increasingly pro-life.

A recent study by Overbrook Research found that 36% of 18-29 year olds identified themselves as “strongly pro-life,” while 18% identified themselves as “strongly pro-choice.” Pro-life leanings are even more evident among young women, 40% of whom identify themselves as pro-life, nearly twice their pro-choice counterparts.
Overbrook Research’s findings reflect a complete U-Turn from the so-called MTV Generation. A similar study in 1992 found that 39% of men and women under 30 supported abortion rights, while only 23% identified themselves as pro-life.
