John, that’s interesting news about Wayne State’s new policy to grant preferences to applicants “who have experienced discrimination.” I wonder what the test will be for whether or not an applicant has been discriminated against. When I was in school, the conventional wisdom was that, due to the structural racism of American society, all minorities experience discrimination in their daily lives. If this is the operative assumption, then the new policy could just be a lawyerly repackaging of the old.
