Christian Giordano, a professor for social anthropology at the University of Freiburg, advocates that Sharia be partially implemented in Switzerland in order to weaken the case of those who want to ban minarets:
[Giordano] wants to implement Sharia in civil, financial and family law, so as to take into account cultural peculiarities and in order to deal with the cultural chasm between Swiss and immigrants.
