Boston University’s College Republicans have decided to award a “Caucasian Achievement and Recognition Scholarship”—for which applicants must be at least 25 percent white—in order to draw attention to similar scholarships that are set aside for various racial and ethnic minorities.
The Center for Equal Opportunity has actually been pretty successful in challenging these minority-only (or, indeed, white-only) programs when they are funded or awarded by the universities themselves (Harvard, Yale, MIT, Princeton, etc. have all abandoned them), but they still exist, so it’s nice to have them challenged and ridiculed this way.
