It is little comfort to find out that political correctness isn’t a phenomenon only in America. Here is an Orwellian episode from Leeds University about a professor who postulated racial differences in IQ (news coverage here and here). Note how the stories say nothing about the facts or the science, but a lot about “values” and “diversity.” The professor denies ever having engaged in discriminatory behavior, and officials say that “The university has no evidence yet that this has happened, but we will look carefully at any such evidence presented to us.” Still, he has been suspended from his post.
