I’m neither pro- nor anti- adjunct, but object on familiar laissez-faire grounds to attempts by the government (which nearly always reflect the wishes of special interest groups) to dictate how organizations must manage their affairs. I can see nothing immoral in a contract that would not have come about unless both parties found it satisfactory.
This issue is like tenure. Whether a school decides to have it or not should be its business entirely.
