That article shows how the supposed “inclusiveness” of the Diversity Crusade breaks down into a tribalistic preference for specific groups.
What justification is there for New Mexico Highlands to try to make itself into “the premier Hispanic-serving institution”? Even more to the point, what reason is there to believe that the university will improve its ability to educate Hispanic (or any other) students because it loads up its faculty with individuals who happen to have some Hispanic ancestry?
Suppose that a university were taken over by someone who wanted to make it into “the premier health and fitness conscious institution.” I had some fun with that silly idea “>here.
