Re: Tax Dollars Well Spent

Okay, now that there is an LGBT “Resource Center” to ensure that UCSD students will feel “welcomed,” what next? Since the operating premise seems to be that every group of students with a common interest or trait needs to have a resource center lest they feel unwelcomed or unincluded, how about a Classical Music Lovers’ Resource Center? A Chess Players’ Center? Imagine how much more diverse and inclusive UCSD would be if it tried to make students who like classical music and chess feel that they’re also welcomed into the UCSD learning community.
As resource centers proliferate, doesn’t the absence of one for any conceivable group of students send the message that “all animals are equal, but some are more equal than others”?
