A Scurrilous Attack on ‘Laissez-faire’ Economists

The Chronicle Review recently ran a scurrilous article, the gist of which was that “laissez-faire” economists were subverting good policy (i.e., federal regulation of just about everything) by promoting “deregulation” to help firms to which they have financial ties. I sent the article to someone who knows what he’s talking about, St. Lawrence University professor Steven Horwitz, and I’m delighted that he has written a piece today for The Freeman that corrects many of the misconceptions in the article.
