It looks like Rutgers values a party girl above a poet. Earlier this week we learned that Toni Morrison will be paid $30,000 to speak at the Rutgers commencement. Today, however, news broke that they paid Snooki, the hard-partying starlet of MTV’s Jersey Shore, $32,000 to speak on, well — I’m not sure what the topic was.
Reportedly, she advised students to “study hard, but party harder.”
It is April Fool’s Day. But, best I can tell, this is not a joke.
