Howard Dean, Chairman of the Democratic National Committee, is spearheading Barack Obama’s presidential campaign at Saint Louis University — the latest in a long list of Catholic colleges hosting a campaign event for the abortion-rights-supporting presidential candidate and making a mockery of its Catholic identity.
Howard Dean has supported legalized abortion and defended the legality of the heinous practice of partial-birth abortion, in which a third trimester half-delivered baby’s skull is evacuated.
“The Bishops have been very clear,” said Patrick J. Reilly, President of the Cardinal Newman Society. “Catholic institutions must not give a public platform to politicians who are publicly opposed to Catholic teaching. The Obama Campaign should not be welcome at Saint Louis University.”
And if these campuses choose to continue in such hypocrisy, they should formally disclaim their Catholic identity.
