Here’s a story about a new study coming out on student bias regarding the politics of their professors. Don’t be thrown off by the headline. The opening makes it seem as if professors were the victims of bias, but the study itself looks more measured, and one of the authors is a conservative. The comments following the story highlight the fact that the students generally found liberal professors more tolerant than conservative professors (not surprising given that most of the students self-identified as liberal). But the students also found their conservative professors (all 7 percent of the total professorate!) were more objective, and one glaring finding is that the respondents found 77% of their profs to be left-of-center.
