Students Respond to Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week

In a series of emails David Horowitz has highlighted the radical opposition to his organization of Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week. He points out, however, that most students are not radical and thus amenable to considering the issue. He cites students at Emory University as a case in point:

The Emory Wheel (the student paper) wrote a piece about our coming events which suggested that they would turn Emory into a combat zone. Not so. I wrote a response, which they printed…I [then] received a call from the editor saying that their editorial board wants to meet with me when I’m there, and that they will be printing a series of articles on our Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week in advance. So at this school we have achieved our principal goal, which was to stimulate a discussion of these issues and make students aware of the threats we face. I’m sure this will be the case at most of the schools where we have planned events.
