Students Schooled for Unemployment

Professor Martin Haberman contends that many urban schools teach an “ideology of unemployment” to their students — bad habits that will hurt them later in life. Here is his piece.
Some of these poor kids will be lured into college after high school, contributing to the problem of disengaged students that erodes academic standards.
