Supreme Denial

No delays for the Michigan Civil Rights Initiative:

The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday denied a request to partly delay implementing Proposal 2 at the state’s three largest universities.
Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens had referred the appeal filed by pro-affirmative action group By Any Means Necessary to the full Supreme Court .
The justices denied the appeal in an apparently unanimous decision, said George Washington, a lawyer for BAMN.
Michigan voters approved Proposal 2 in November, banning affirmative action in state hiring and contracting and in university admissions.
