Teaching or preaching?

Mal Kline is right on the money with this article. There are some college profs who see themselves as “change agents” and choose to use their courses for indoctrination of the students.  Now, that’s bad enough when it’s an upper-level course in sociology or political science, say. As Mal reports, though, you even find it in freshman comp courses where the objective is supposed to be teaching students how to compose a coherent paragraph.  Some profs subordinate that to the overriding goal of setting their ideology right.
