At the end of September writer Robert Novak noted that a group of U. of I alums is creating an organization to finance conservative studies on campus – to be called The Academy on Capitalism and Limited Government Fund. This has some U of I faculty members shaking in their boots. They fear that the group’s plans to raise money to pay for classes and research on free-market capitalism and limited government would create an undue – yikes! – conservative political influence on campus.
