Last month, the University of Southern California’s School of Game Design canceled a program called “Legends of the Games Industry.” It would have brought leading figures in the game design industry (people such as Peter Levin, president of Lionsgate Interactive) to participate in a panel on campus.
Why was the event canceled (just hours before the event)? The event organizer, faculty member Anthony Borquez, explained on Facebook that the panel wasn’t diverse enough and the university was committed to a “diverse and inclusive games industry.”
The panel had no women.
Hat-tip to Anthony Bruno.
