Untouchable

What part of the budget at a college or university is untouchable even in times of vigorous budget cutting?

A gold star for anyone who guessed diversity. In today’s Pope Center piece, Duke Cheston takes a look at the University of North Carolina system, which has had to tighten its belt in recent years, but not the numerous offices and programs relating to “diversity.” At some campuses, the number of positions has even grown.
