Utopian Dems for a Peace Academy

Some of the progressive Democrats now in power want to establish a Department of Peace and Nonviolence and a cabinet level position with broad new powers and responsibilities.
At TigerHawk, Charlottesvillain describes the powers of this proposed new agency as

advising on non-confrontational foreign policy options, establishing and enforcing new gun control measures, designing school curriculum, establishing and enforcing new legislation governing “hate crimes” and violence against animals, and…establishing a “Peace Academy,” a four-year institution of higher learning modeled on our service academies.

But, hold off, hasn’t the higher education landscape been littered with peace studies for decades? This won’t stop the Dems, with their visions of a whole new order of no doubt smartly uniformed “peace officers” – read police – at the ready to oversee compliance with a new federal appeasement regime in our institutions.
Another utopian scheme to take aim against.
