V-Tech Massacre Roundup

What we know now: 33 dead, including shooter; 30 injured; name of shooter apparently is known but hasn’t been released, described by witnesses as “a young man of Asian descent.”

Stories in Washington Post, NYT, V-Tech student newspaper Collegiate Times, Roanoke Times, Richmond Times-Dispatch (links to tons of coverage), WDBJ7, Chronicle of Higher Ed, Inside Higher Ed.
List of confirmed dead.
UPDATE: The Virginia Tech website has a special section on the shootings, including a timeline. … The Queen of England , who is scheduled to visit Virginia in a couple of weeks to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Jamestown, is “shocked and saddened.” … K Lo already has highlighted Eli Lehrer’s NRO piece on campus security, but I’ll do it again because it’s so good and level-headed. Definitely worth reading as pundits engage in hindsight and the recriminations pour in.
