Virginia Tech professor Steven Salaita has “grown fatigued of appeals on behalf of the troops,” and has written an article informing us that “troop worship is trite and tiresome.”
It’s so hard for professor Salaita becuase “in addition to donating change to the troops, we are repeatedly impelled to ‘support our troops’ or to ‘thank our troops.’ God constantly blesses them. Politicians exalt them.”
If only God would listen to professor Salaita and stop blessing those troops, then perhaps he would feel okay with the world.
