The West Virginia Department of Education was encouraged to support in-state school choice programs in a study released by the West Virginia Legislative Auditor’s Office today.
The audit was part of the annual Departmental Review of the Dept. of Education. The 89-page report recommends that the Dept. of Education “explore ways to bolster the state’s school choice program beyond merely attempting to meet federal standards.” The Legislative Auditor also recommended that supervise school choice notifications better and that parents be notified earlier of school choice options.
