We’ve Got to Keep Up with India!

That’s one of the standard lines we hear from the higher ed establishment — that India (and China and some other countries) are pulling away from us in the supposed educational race and we had better get serious about putting more young Americans through college.

This Wall Street Journal piece about education in India is a great blow to that idea. Mass education and credentialing there have had the same effects as they have had here: lots of weakly educated graduates who can’t obtain employment commensurate with their ostensible education.
