White Professor Discriminates Against Students Who Feel Unsafe

That’s how we might view the decision by emeritus economics professor Daniel Hamermesh of the University of Texas, who had a contract to teach a class, but now is declining to fulfill his contract because a new Texas law permits students to carry guns on campus. Here’s the Inside Higher Ed story.

Professor Hamermesh is within his rights, but imagine the furor if the case involved a professor who declined to teach students for a reason that “progressives” don’t like.
