From today’s Chronicle:
Several prominent critics of affirmative action announced on Monday that they would seek to place a referendum banning racial, ethnic, and gender preferences on the ballot in Colorado in November 2008. The national organization leading their effort — the American Civil Rights Institute — is expected by the end of the week to announce similar campaigns in Arizona, Missouri, and Oklahoma as part of what it is calling a “Super Tuesday for Equal Rights.”
The American Civil Rights Institute plans within weeks to add a fifth state to its list but has not yet decided which of two — Nebraska or South Dakota — it will be, the group’s chairman, Ward Connerly, said.
