History professor Jonathan Bean writes about his interview with a “far left-liberal” black woman who was intrigued by his book, which argues that most of what people think they know about race in America is mistaken.

It comes as no surprise that Bean’s interviewer, a well-educated woman, was unfamiliar with classical-liberal thinking. What is surprising is that she took it seriously rather than brushing it off, as so many statists do when they confront arguments against their beliefs.
