If you haven’t yet heard about it, there was quite an ugly flare-up at Yale recently, provoked by — would you believe it? — Halloween costumes?

Writer Milo Yiannopoulos points out the similarity between the mob attack at Yale and the Red Brigades in China, another campus movement that sought to squelch any and all “deviationism” from the party line. I particularly like this observation: “Progressives start to make sense once you realize they are herd animals. This professor had the misfortune of being the old or injured one who slipped out of the pack and fell prey to the jackals–sorry, I mean, stunning and brave social justice activists.”
This reminds me of the attack a few years ago at the University of Wisconsin, when Roger Clegg was trying to present the findings of his organization (Center for Equal Opportunity) about the high degree of racial preference being used at UW. An administrator (the head of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion or something like that) quickly organized a protest mob that broke into the room where Clegg was speaking and shouted him down. Say things that don’t dovetail with the leftist view of the world on a college campus and you’re likely to find yourself facing an angry mob.
Oh, but we must never forget that, as they constantly proclaim, our colleges and universities are devoted to teaching students “critical thinking.”
