Alternatives to ethanol for reducing fuel dependence

Congress is pushing ethanol as a way to reduce dependence on foreign oil. There are several reasons for thinking that, at best, it can be only a small part of the answer, and at worst, it creates more problems than it solves. The NCPA released a Brief Analysis today that examines the relative merits of various sources of transportation fuels and their potential contributions to greater energy independence.
