Yesterday’s Washington Post item about other nations claiming to be emissaries from the planet sent to hound the U.S. into adopting an agreement that they happen to be violating themselves but which due to legal peculiarities would only be binding upon the U.S., was rich enough. At least they didn’t claim to be sent by another planet. Still, experience says to watch that space.
Today’s “news item,” however, is really too much. It seems almost old hat by now, the many contortions that environmental journalists will employ to avoid acknowledging the U.S.’s superior emissions performance; but have they ever met a double standard applied to the prejudice of the U.S. they didn’t like?
