Here’s a good piece from the Washington Post on how proponents of hydrogen-powered cares are angry at Team Obama for betting on electric cars as the “green” car of the future.
An alternative idea, however, not discussed in the article: let’s not subsidize either electric or hydrogen cars and let industry and consumers figure out which one they want for themselves? The article talks about the need for subsidies for a nation-wide fueling network, but that’s not necessary. The first adopters will be fleet owners and they’ll update their own filling stations.
