Professor Ivor van Heerden, the hurricane expert often quoted in the aftermath of Katrina, has been fired from his post at Louisiana State University. Van Heerden alleges that his comments blaming the Army Corps of Engineers for the flooding of New Orleans led to his dismissal and he’s currently in litigation over his termination.
