May I See Your Travel Permit?

Ready for another example of how the global warming scare campaign is really just a means of exerting government control over people? Here you go:

The UK’s so-called “environment czar” last week raised the possibility of rationing air travel, limiting UK citizens to just a few vacation trips abroad by air per year in order to reduce the impact of carbon dioxide emissions.

Adair Turner, chairman of the independent Committee on Climate Change that advises UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown, made the proposal before Parliament’s Environmental Audit Select Committee on Feb. 5. In remarks widely reported by UK media, Turner said, “We will have to constrain demand in an absolute sense with people not allowed to make as many journeys as they could in an unconstrained manner.”

Whether it’s limiting air travel (by the way, ironic that such a plan is being offered up in the U.K.; wasn’t one of the glories of establishing the EU to ease travel within Europe?) or taxing personal carbon contributions or forcing upon us unproven and costly renewable energies, make no mistake: at the very heart of the matter, the ultimate goal of climate scarmongering is global governance. It’s not about decreasing emissions; it’s about increasing the power of the state. Take trips while you can, Brits.
