Here’s a clip of President Obama from earlier today answering Ohio Democratic senator Sherrod Brown’s question on clean energy. A couple quick thoughts . . .
One, Brown touts Germany’s lead in solar power. I guess he hasn’t read Planet Gore on the current problems in the German solar industry.
Two, Brown bemoans the fact that the United States doesn’t have a manufacturing policy like Germany’s. Again, see the link above for why that’s not such a bad thing. It would have been more interesting if Brown asked Obama why he hasn’t kept his campaign promise to renegotiate NAFTA. But, alas, no such challenge.
And finally, three, the president engages in a bit of Friedmanesque “China. Is. Awesome.”
