Power Struggle Over Who Shuts Off the Power

I just received this e-mail:

As you may have heard, today Congressman Henry Waxman (D-CA) called Energy and Commerce Chairman John Dingell (D-MI) to inform him that he plans to challenge him for the chairmanship of the committee. It is our understanding that this vote could happen during the lame duck session the week of November 17, 2008. You may also have heard that Congressman Ed Markey (D-MA) may challenge Congressman Rick Boucher (D-VA) for the Energy and Air Quality Subcommittee.

Gracious. You may have seen discussion of some of the provisions of the amazing Dingell-Boucher tax-grab and energy-rationing scheme that apparently was the more “moderate” Democratic global-warming bill. Now, a particular Washington, D.C., business organization has called Dingell-Boucher “reasonable” — reminiscent of an earlier effort by the same group to drum upsupport for Hillary Clinton’s health-care proposal because . . . you know, some things are just inevitable.

Since it appears that it takes some serious, world-class moonbattery for Americans to sit up and take notice what’s going on in Congress, let me be the first to say: Go Waxman-Markey!
