President Obama, Please Go Back to the Copenhagen in December!

After The One ruthlessly assaulted the earth’s climate with a gratuitous trip across the Pond to try to secure Chicago’s Olympic bid, the Second City was the first to be knocked out of contention for the 2016 games. (Tokyo — despite yesterday’s green hysterics — was next to go).

As previously noted, the pressure will now be intense for Obama to go back to Copenhagen to persuade the world to accept the U.S. surrender on Kyoto II. After all, what’s an Olympiad — even if it is the world’s last — compared with the greatest threat facing mankind, etc., etc.? The White House said that it is absurd to suggest that hopping on a plane to go to Copenhagen to support an Olympic bid is a distraction from pressing issues. So clearly, we won’t be hearing that excuse in December. Ahem.

But, with Olympic Committee voters no more subject to The One’s charms than the increasingly restless American electorate appears to be, I now concur with the greens. Mr. Obama, go to the COP!
