Drudge is splashing the story, and this comes up every few months or so, but yes, the Presidential limo is exempt from “green” rules, as it should be, along with tanks, fighter jets, etc. It’s absolutely inane for our side to make hey out the story.
However, when the President decides to hop on Air Force One to take the First Lady on a date, well, that’s fair game. As are questions of a political nature, like, why can’t the President just have a video conference call with audiences around the country when he’s on the stump?
The answer is simple: a video chat is not anywhere near as effective as an in-person presentation. I guess showing leadership on emissions by taking the risk of holding the tele-town-halls isn’t worth the risk of losing in 2012.
