Senator “I Feel It When I’m Not Up for Reelection” Stabenow

Armageddon will have to wait until after the next election.

In 2009, Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow told the Detroit News editorial board that fighting the climate crisis was her top priority.

“Climate change is very real,” she said echoing other Gorebama disciples who maintained that, unless a cap-and-trade law was passed immediately, the world was doomed to floods, drought, hurricanes and species extinction on an apocalyptic scale. “Global warming creates volatility. I feel it when I’m flying. The storms are more volatile. We are paying the price in more hurricanes and tornadoes.”

But now with her 2012 re-election in trouble and Big Government in foul odor with the public, Stabenow has done a 180 — asking that the EPA delay its regulatory diktat to strangle American manufacturing with carbon caps.

“My amendment is a common-sense approach that allows protections from carbon pollution while providing businesses the support and incentives they need as they reduce pollution,” is the way she put it in a statement this week.

Whatever. Job security has a way of bringing Democrats to their senses.
