Planet Gore

Who Does He Think He Is . . . John Murtha?

The Washington Post has this story about a NASA appointee steering millions in research money to a pal. Of course, this is what Congress does all the time — as you see in their inability to quit the “earmark” stuff — so WaPo’s outrage falls a little flat.

But it rasies the issue of corruption in science — NASA-related earth science to be specific. I’ve been told by several scientists for years that — until a longtime DoE employee recently moved elsewhere — no one focusing on inconvenient climate research (like the influence of the sun, say) should have even bothered to apply. A few highly reputable and credible individuals were, as my source tells it, effectively blacklisted.

The bigger issue is the corruption of the institutions of science in the name of these guaranteed billions in the name of global-warming alarmism. No one stands to fall harder than those who have gained the most from global-warming alarmism. Let’s hope WaPo remains as interested in their fall, when it all finally comes tumbling down.
