The “Suck for Luck” movement here in Miami is rooting for the Dolphins to lose to ensure the No. 1 overall pick in next year’s NFL draft, so that the Fins can draft Stanford QB Andrew Luck.
It’s gotten to the point where Will Manso, the sports director of the local ABC affiliate, lobbied ABC national to show the Stanford–Oregon State game on Saturday rather than the previously scheduled Texam A&M–Oklahoma tilt:

I’m a big believer in the football gods, deities that the actual G*d lets control the sport of football. You don’t ever want to anger the football gods as a player or a fan, and cheering for you team to lose in the hope that a college player that has yet to throw an NFL pass will save your franchise doesn’t just anger the gods, but leaves them apoplectic.
Sorry, Fins, but this won’t end well. You’ve been warned.
