Dumbest Fan Ever IDed, May Face Charges

We now know a little more about the unruly fan whose slide down an upper-deck handrail at Sunday afternoon’s Jets-Bills game turned into a frightening, 30-foot plunge.

The man who fell, identified as 29-year-old Robert Hopkins, looked like he was trying to slide on the railing before tumbling from the 300 level to the 200 level at Ralph Wilson Stadium, landing on someone below.

According to the Associated Press, a Rural Metro ambulance service report says the man who was hit by the Hopkins when he fell sustained a head injury. Hopkins sustained a shoulder injury, which was not considered life-threatening, though paramedics took him from the stadium in a stretcher.

Earlier this afternoon, a spokeswoman for the Erie County sheriff indicated that charges may be filed against Hopkins but did not elaborate.
