Freddie Falcon, the mascot of the Atlanta Falcons, tweeted an apology after making an earlier joke following a charity walk for suicide prevention center earlier in the day. The original tweet has been deleted but read:
“Had a good time at the #ood suicide prevention walk today. I may need to go back if our season continues the way it is.”
The Falcons are currently in the midst of a dismal 2-6 season after having high hopes based on past few seasons’ successes. A few hours later, the mascot’s apologized:
I am truly sorry for my inappropriate and insensitive tweet. It was in poor taste.

As the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, notes, “even the mascot is having a bad season” for the Falcons.
