Serena Williams: Wimbeldon Is Sexist

Despite being the reigning Wimbledon ladies single champion, the 29 year-old admitted feeling “insulted” that other high-profile male stars such as Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic were never moved from Centre Court.

A day after disclosing her “battle” against personal demons and injury after breaking down in tears on TV following her first round win, the American suggested her and her sister Venus were unfairly targeted by SW19 officials.

This was despite the pair having “won more Wimbledons together than a lot of the players or by ourselves in doubles even.”

Wimbledon officials were quick to deny her claims, insisting scheduling was a “hugely complicated jigsaw puzzle” and that it was “a treat for the fans” out on Court Two.

The 13-time Grand Slam champion also admitted she found it an indignity to fight her way through large crowds gathering in walkways around Wimbledon as she attempted to get to Court Two.

Oh, yes. Such an indignity to mingle with the fans.
