The Cardinals again feasted on the Brewers’ awful pitching and porous defense, defeating Milwaukee 12-6 to win the National League Championship Series in six games.
David Freese, Rafael Furcal, and Albert Pujols hit home runs in the early frames, enabling St. Louis to jump out to a five-run lead. Three Brew Crew errors in the fifth inning — including two on one play — gave the Redbirds a couple of insurance runs and enabled them to coast the rest of the way.
The World Series, featuring the Cards and Rangers, starts Wednesday evening at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.
